CARANA Corporation (www.carana.com), an international economic development consulting firm, is recruiting for short-term consultants for an upcoming USAID-funded Economic Growth activity in India. The project will focus on providing technical assistance to "India Office for Economic Growth (OEG) to identify areas that continue to hinder the process of economic reform and growth in India and develop and implement programs for addressing these issues." We're just in the proposal stage at this point however, the New Delhi-based project is slated for 2 years and is set to start in fall 2005 and end in September 2007.
We are looking for strong Indian national or Indian American candidates to provide technical assistance an training on short-term assignments (2-3 weeks)with some of the following expertise:
Urban sector reform (urban planners)
Financial sector reform (bank regulatory, accounting reform)
Fiscal governance reform (securities & exchange laws, debt equity issues)
Agricultural sector reform (ag policy)
FDI legal and regulatory reform (investment promotion, Investor's Roadmap)
Trade promotion locally, regionally, and internationally
SME-level finance and development
Strengthened Infrastructure and Service Delivery (Institutional capacity building, municipal governance, land reform, regulatory and master planning for India)
Gender considerations
